JUDY ORBACH

Judy Orbach was born in a trunk. She comes from a show business family including Broadway writer and producer, Burt Shevelove, and the late great actor, Jerry Orbach. Her career as a talent manager, producer, production coordinator and musician spans over 40 years. As a singer/songwriter in New York in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, Judy opened for comics at The Improv, Catch a Rising Star and Caroline's, and headlined at The Bitter End and Folk City in Greenwich Village where she lived for 20 years. Her first job in New York was working the door at the famed New York Improv on 44th & 9th. She credits owner, Budd Friedman, with giving her a creative outlet unmatched by any other experience. Judy has worked with an eclectic group of artists such as Richard Lewis, Richard Belzer, Michael Patrick King, Chris Albrecht, Andy Warhol and Wavy Gravy. Her credits include comedy shows and series television for ABC, HBO, Showtime, New Line Television, Moffitt-Lee Productions, and Spelling Television, where she was a post production producer. She was also a talent coordinator in the 90’s for the Latino Laugh Festival and the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, and started her career as a talent manager at Marathon Entertainment. She has also served as Casting Director for the HBO hit series, "Real Time with Bill Maher." Judy opened her company, Judy O Productions, in 2005. She continues to cultivate her skills as a manager and producer, representing a diverse group of talented actors, writers, producers and directors. Her company is continually developing and producing projects for film, television and stage. Judy gets just as jazzed about the process as she does about the actual gig. "There is nothing sweeter than watching creativity unfold and having the opportunity to nurture it and send it out into the world."
